Thinking about money, meaning, and why some things last.
Everyone in marketing is moving faster. More AI, more channels, more output, more dashboards proving it's working. I've become more interested in the opposite question: what actually matters, and why?
At PayMongo, I lead marketing for a fintech trying to build real financial infrastructure for Filipino businesses — the kind that handles payments, capital, and money movement for people who've never had proper access to any of it. The work is specific, grounded, and occasionally humbling. I like it for exactly those reasons.
Outside of work I write for Oblique Asia — slow analysis of Southeast Asia's startup and tech ecosystem. Not takes. Not trends. The structural forces underneath the surface that most coverage misses.
I read more than I produce. I think most marketing content, including a lot of what I've made, is noise. I'm trying to make less of it, and make what I do make count.
Based in Manila. Cat dad of two. Interested in money, meaning, and why some things last.
The work I'm doing today.
Leading marketing for a fintech building real financial infrastructure for Filipino businesses — payments, wallet, capital, money movement. The mandate goes beyond campaigns: shaping how the market understands and trusts us as we evolve from startup to financial backbone.
Slow analysis of Southeast Asia's startup and tech ecosystem. Not takes. Not trends. The structural forces underneath the surface that most coverage misses.
A coffee space in Panglao. A slow room kept for people who care about the craft.
Roles before PayMongo, in reverse chronology.
Contract engagement with the leadership team to sharpen product marketing and improve GTM execution for a productivity platform used by thousands of teams worldwide.
Led strategic marketing and business development for an enterprise consulting firm expanding across Southeast Asia.
Led content marketing strategy for a B2B staffing platform — thought leadership and demand generation.
Marketing is the trade, but the work touches narrative, distribution, product, and the people doing it. Where I tend to make myself useful when collaborating.
